Last October found me loitering in parks, looking rather suspicious with my camera on a tripod pointing at nothing, whilst I waited for my next person to arrive for their headshot photography. Fortunately it wasn’t long, as there were plenty of people to photograph for Gillespies – (landscape architects, master planners and urban designers). Zena from Gillespies wanted a green and natural background (nice and wide for website purposes) to hint at and fit in with what they do. The shoot covered both Manchester and Leeds. We were so fortunate with the weather. It’s quite a risk organising large quantities of headshots outside with the British weather. If it had rained, I had a plan B to hand. Thankfully it wasn’t needed.
This was a lovely celebratory photoshoot for my client MCS. They had recently certified their 4000th contractor. Matt and Tara from MCS hosted the event. We invited several contractors to participate in a photography and videography shoot. The location was amazing. The compound Studio is a former textile mill in Birmingham’s historic jewellery quarter. There was lots of lovely wood, brick and metal to use as backdrops. I photographed the contractors holding up signs and then also set up individual portraits as well as the big group shot, whilst Jo and Abbey the videographers interviewed them.
Tom from Glorious Creative came with me to the Albert Docks in Liverpool to provide art direction with these headshots and portraits for Zeus Tech Solutions. They are a tech company that provides software solutions and innovation for the legal industry. We needed a background that was both interesting and relevant. It also had to be simple enough to create a cohesive look across LinkedIn and social media. Each person was photographed in a more editorial, unique style. This approach provided a range of portraits and versatile content. We had access to many areas in the building. This allowed us to find excellent, unique spots for each individual.
Lastly, for my October ’24 news, I was commissioned by The Greater Manchester Institute of Technology. (GMIoT are leaders in the provision of high-quality, higher level technical education and training). The first shoot was at Wigan and Leigh college with videographer Jo. My brief was to photograph students using and interacting with the technology provided. Tina from GMIoT had put lots of time into organising the photoshoot and students, so that it ran smoothly on the day. The students and lecturers were really good and took to the limelight surprisingly well.
Last December I spent a couple of days with Garic who sell or hire welfare units and equipment to the construction and infrastructure industry. Wilson Cooke were working on Garic’s new brand and commissioned me to build up a bank of imagery

Marie made myself and make up artist Charlotte really welcome. I set up a little ‘photo booth’ in her front room and started unpacking all of the fab props sent by the magazine.
