Happy New Year everyone, I hope you’ve had a lovely and relaxing Christmas.  I’m already back behind the camera with two January photoshoots under my belt and a busy few weeks lined up. But firstly, here is a look back at my jobs from this time last year. If anyone ever wonders why I leave such a long gap before featuring my photoshoots – it’s because I wouldn’t want to show my client’s work before they are ready and have already put the images to work for their own companies.

I’m featuring some more images from my time with Garic. Garic hire and sell welfare units and equipment to the construction industry. This was a chilly photoshoot for Wilson Cooke, but we were blessed with a beautiful blue sky and even the occasional intermittent burst of sunshine! This was one of those shoots where I had to plod around in oversized steel toe capped boots and a hi-vis jacket over my many layers. I did not manage to look my usual glamorous self – ahem…

A hop across the Pennines to visit Hollingworth Academy, in Rochdale, to capture promotional photography for my client, We Are Futures.  NatWest Thrive ran their one day Idea Accelerator workshop to the year 10 students. The workshops provide students with financial education and entrepreneurship lessons with inspirational content.  My job was to capture the energy of the day, the interaction between the ambassadors and students and the moments of thought, concentration and illumination through reportage style photography.

I returned to my client ‘Live’ in Leeds who provide expert conveyancing and lettings solutions to estate agencies. I’ve previously photographed their headshots but this time they asked for a lovely, relaxed team shot to go on their ‘about us’ page. We found a couple of good spots so we could try a few options but this one was the winner.

This was a lovely photoshoot to do for Women in Film and TV. WFTV were hosting a networking morning for their members with an added bonus where they could get a headshot at the same time. They hired a beautiful meeting room at Department in Leeds Dock and I had each person for about 20 minutes. I loved finding out what they all do in the industry with some starting out on their journeys and some at the top of their game.

A trip to Scollick Business Finance in Holmfirth, which is nice and local, to do some corporate headshots for them. Nice clean headshots on a white colorama. I usually only have 10 minutes with each person for a simple headshot like these, but I make sure I take time to relax each person and get plenty of poses and expressions out of them to give my client plenty of choice. We also had the time to do a team shot for their website.

Lastly, I had fun on this commercial photoshoot with Lizzie from Northern Estate Agencies creating some promotional photography for their Manning Stainton branch in Beeston, Leeds. Their estate agents are always a friendly chatty bunch and a pleasure to photograph. Most shots were ‘working style’ with an occasional, more direct, eyes to camera pose. This photoshoot was a week before xmas and I had to make them squish the Christmas tree and decorations into the cupboard, otherwise it would have been forever Christmas in their images 🙂 I think they thought I was the Christmas Grinch…

Bye for now 🙂

Last October found me loitering in parks, looking rather suspicious with my camera on a tripod pointing at nothing, whilst I waited for my next person to arrive for their headshot. Fortunately it wasn’t long, as there were plenty of people to photograph for Gillespies - (landscape architects, master planners, and urban designers).

This was a really fun shoot with Marie Thom for Good Housekeeping magazine entitled ‘In my experience - Midlife dramas in pyjamas’. Marie made myself and make up artist Charlotte really welcome. I set up a little ‘photo booth’ in her front room and started unpacking all of the fab props sent by the magazine.
