In this increasingly visual world, potential clients view your website and social media profiles, making split second decisions, based on what they see. Good imagery can promote you much quicker and much more effectively than lengthy written explanations.
Often with small businesses, you are your brand. You need to create images that tell your story. These should be images which enable your personality to shine through.
As an established photographer and owner of a small business, I know full well how uncomfortable it can be to realise you have to sell yourself, in essence, to promote your business. I also know how nerve-wracking a photoshoot can be. Having been photographing people for 20 years, I can count on one hand the people who were not nervous about a professional photoshoot. I can also tell you that virtually everyone I photograph gets to the end of a shoot and will tell me that it was actually quite fun and wasn’t as bad as they thought it was going to be!
I’m the type of photographer that will look after you and will give you lots of direction, such as how to stand, what to do with your hands and your expressions. Rest assured, I will make you feel as comfortable as possible during the shoot. You may not believe it now – but we will most likely enjoy it and have fun!

We have a good chat on the phone to discover what sort of images will work best for you. I find out about you and your business, your unique selling points and your customer base and expectations. This is an important part of the planning, as I really want to create images that reflect you and your business in the way you want to be seen and that inspires your customers.
This is so important. Choosing colours is especially important. Outfit changes are a bonus because you can create several different looks and get more longevity out of the photoshoot. I can give you lots of advice on what to wear.
We can do the photoshoot at your home or at your business premises. At a pretty cafe or stylised bar or restaurant. We can photograph you outside in an urban or rural setting. These choices will be made together with a view to how you want to be seen. If we hire a location there may be an extra cost involved.
I can arrange for a professional make up artist to do your hair and make up prior to the shoot to give you an extra confidence boost.
I will look after you and I will give you lots of direction to make sure you look good and feel comfortable. We will work to get as many different shots as possible to maximise the usage you get out of the photoshoot.
Firstly, I will edit the shoot and balance the images. I will then send you all the images that work well via Wetransfer. They will also be indexed onto a contact sheet for easy viewing. These images are yours to use for your self promotion. You can pick a number of images to be retouched if you would like at an extra cost of £10 per image. This is light retouching – blemishes, stray hairs, dark shadows under the eyes… so you look like your best self. This is not body altering effects to change your shape etc. I encourage women (and men) to love the way they are.
